Beer Brownies Recipe

Don’t knock them ‘til you try them! Chocolate and beer are a great pairing, which explains why chocolate flavored beer is a thing. But, whether or not you’re a fan of that, you will be a fan of beer and chocolate brownies.
When you bite into one of these beer brownies, you won’t be tasting beer or hops. In fact, if you didn’t know there was beer in it, you most likely wouldn’t be able to guess that it was there.
Yet, there is a deeper, richer taste that the grains in the beer bring to the brownie that makes it one of the tastiest brownies you’ll ever have.
Beer Brownies Recipe
Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon espresso powder (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ cup canola oil
  • 12 tablespoons butter
  • 4 ounces of unsweetened chocolate chips
  • 1 can FRIO beer
Step 1 -
Pour the beer into a pot on the stove and let simmer at medium heat for about 20 minutes or until the beer has reduced to ½ a cup.
Step 2 -
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Step 3 -
Put the butter and chocolate into a microwave safe bowl and microwave for 30 seconds at a time until fully melted. Then, whisk in the sugar and beer. Next, whisk in the eggs, oil, and vanilla.
Step 4 -
Then, whisk in the flour, cocoa powder, espresso powder, salt, and chocolate chips until everything is well-combined.
Step 5 -
Pour the batter into a well-buttered and/or papered 9x9 inch baking dish and bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Step 6 -
Remove the dish from the oven and let cool completely. Once cool, you can cut out the brownie squares and put them onto a serving dish.
These brownies make the perfect St. Patrick’s day treat. Just cover them in green frosting, and call it a day! They are also safe for children consumption, as most, if not all, of the alcohol evaporates during the simmering and baking.
So, you can enjoy these beer brownies at any time with friends and family.
